**Position Title** Senior Structural Engineer

**Job Summary**
**THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE EMPLOYEE REFERRAL PROGRAM**
DUTIES: Perform steel and concrete analysis and design of hydraulic structures, such as dams, levees, water and waste water treatment plants using knowledge of their hydrostatic, hydrodynamic, seismic, seismic induced water pressure, trunnion friction, wave run up, debris loading, and operational parameters. Perform construction inspection using finite element modeling and structural and engineering software, such as GTStrudel, SAP2000, Math CAD, ArcGIS, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-GeoHMS, Hydrocad, StormCAD, and AutoCAD. Ensure design conformance with approved plans and specifications, including the USACE Engineering Manual and Federal Regulation Commission Guidelines. Coordinate between the Engineer of Record, Client, and General Contractor and reply to contractor Requests for Information (RFIs). Prepare design criteria, design and technical reports, plans, specifications, and quality assurance reviews of design and construction plans. Evaluate, select, adapt, and modify standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in conformance with AISC 360 Specification for Structural Steel Buildings, California Building Codes (CBC), International Building Codes (IBC), and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) codes and standards, as needed. Assist in the construction administration of ongoing projects, such as reviewing shop drawings and addressing job site questions.
**Minimum Requirements**
REQUIREMENTS: Position requires a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or foreign equivalent degree and 3 years of experience in the position offered or 3 years of experience involving: steel and concrete analysis and design for hydraulic structures; finite element modeling; development of hydrostatic and hydrodynamic loads; structural and engineering software, including SAP2000, and Math CAD; preparation of technical reports; and AISC, CBC, IBC, ASCE-codes and standards; preparation of design criteria, design reports, plans, specifications and quality assurance review of designs and construction plans; and dams or hydroelectric related projects. Position also requires a Professional Engineer License or Engineer in Training Certificate.
