**Position Title** Structural Engineer- Water

**Job Summary**
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Structural Engineer for immediate employment for the Sacramento, CA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
+ Support the Structural Dept. with the layout and design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, particularly experience with industry standards and requirements for hydraulic structures. This experience includes ACI 350, AWWA for liquid bearing structures.
+ Provide resident structural engineering services for a major wastewater treatment plant upgrade. Services include structural observation and evaluation of field conditions in respect to design intent.
+ Perform condition assessments and site visits as needed.
+ Support and/or lead project teams.
+ Develop structural technical specifications, plans, elevations, section and details.
+ Prepare engineering related calculations.
+ Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards / practices.
+ Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
+ Delegate, oversee and review work prepared by other structural engineers within the department.
+ Mentor less experienced staff.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
+ 5+ years of experience in structural engineering, including design and construction support for reinforced concrete, masonry, and steel structures, particularly with hydraulic structures.
+ Professional Engineer registration (Civil or Structural) in the State of California.
+ Extensive experience with building/material codes and structural framing system common to water and wastewater facilities including but not limited to concrete masonry (ACI 530), structural steel (AISC 360, AISC 341, SJI, SDI) and structural aluminum.
+ Experience with the design and detailing of equipment supports, pipe supports and performance specified systems including concrete and steel tanks.
+ Experience with industry standard structural design packages, finite element modeling and analysis, and Revit.
+ Knowledge and/or experience in planning studies, conditions assessment, systems analysis, and rehabilitation projects.
+ Ability to work with a diverse team.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture.
+ Experienced, self-directed professional.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
+ Ability to meet quality, schedule and budget expectations.
+ Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines.
+ Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
+ This position requires an approximately two to three year assignment on a construction job site supporting a major wastewater treatment plant upgrade.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master's degree in related field.
+ Experience in the water/wastewater industry.
+ Extensive experience with reinforced concrete design, including environmental engineering concrete structures designed in accordance with ACI 350 and ACI 350.3.
+ Excellent CAD skills.
+ Business development experience including client relations, proposal preparation, and professional leadership activities.
+ Team leadership experience supervising engineers, CAD technicians, surveyors and field inspectors.
+ Autodesk Revit proficiency.
