**Job Summary**
**AECOM** is seeking a Structural Engineer to be based in Orange, CA. As a Structural Engineer you will work, as part of project teams, to develop a range of engineering scheme solutions from initial concept through to detailed design for implementation and support roles on construction supervision contracts. This is a diverse role that will involve your contribution and insight to the effective delivery of its current portfolio of projects and to bids for new work within an existing team of engineers.
You will be joining of a global team of 500+ maritime specialists who support on a wide range of maritime developments including container terminals, LNG facilities, waterfront developments, cruise and ferry terminals, marinas and harbors as well as coastal schemes such as beach development and coastal protection schemes.
The Orange office has an established track record of successfully delivering maritime services to port owners/operators, contractors and transportation agencies as well as government agencies, international financial institutions and private developers. Our maritime experience includes port planning, port economics and due diligence, engineering and design, construction supervision for local and global clients.
This position is expected to begin immediate.

**The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:**
+ Undertaking design and planning activities on maritime projects - container terminals, mining/bulk, oil/gas, marinas, ports and harbors, coastal defense and development schemes;
+ Assist with calculations and productions of drawing and documents under the supervision of senior staff.
+ Wharves, piles, sheet piles, dolphins, across the United States
+ Independently prepare engineering related calculations
+ Review work prepared by other engineers with the department
+ Develop structural technical specifications, plans, and details
+ Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed
+ Perform condition assessments and site visits as needed
+ Occasional short to medium term site visits may also become necessary depending on project requirements;
+ Maritime design and planning, including maritime codes/standards such as USACE, PIANC, OCIMF.
+ Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field
+ Minimum 2 years of experience in structures in Marine environment
+ Professional Engineering (PE) License
+ Valid Driver’s license required
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master of Science (with structural engineering concentration)
+ Five (5) years or more of related experience
+ California PE license preferred
+ Experience in the design of marine structures including wharves, piles, sheet piles, and dolphins in seismic zones
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Knowledge of computer analysis and design software such as SAP 2000, RISA 3D, STAAD.Pro, SAFE and (or equivalent).
+ Knowledge in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
+ The ability to work with, interpret, and apply national and local, and marine structures related codes.
+ Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing
+ Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines
+ Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment
+ Demonstrable interest in developing a career in Ports & Marine Engineering
