**Job Summary/Responsibilities**
+ The Structural Engineer is responsible for performing structural calculations, analysis, and design drawing development.
+ He/She is able to perform engineering services during construction - responding to RFI's and submittals, working with contractors, and adapting/modifying the design to job site conditions creatively and efficiently.
+ Potential projects come from a wide variety of industry sectors including entertainment, commercial, industrial, parking structures, government, and detention
+ The engineer will work collaboratively with more experienced engineers and also be able to lead younger engineers.
+ The engineer will be able to comfortably lead design efforts, assign tasks to junior engineers, review calculations and drawings and be able to take designs from concept to construction documents.
Daily work consists of:
+ Structural analysis and design
+ Development of clear, detailed, easy-to-follow structural calculations
+ Leading design tasks with support from junior engineers as well as being part of bigger design teams completing individual tasks
+ Coordinate work with other disciplines
+ Prepare contract documents (drawings, specifications, calculations)
+ Construction administration / engineer services during construction
+ Author structural reports, assessments, and studies
+ Develop project management experience such as scheduling, budgeting, risk assessment, etc.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering plus a minimum of four (4) years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ Professional Engineering license in California (PE)
+ Valid driver’s license
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master of Science in Civil Engineering (Structural Focus)
+ Minimum of 8 years’ experience
+ Professional Structural Engineering License in California (SE)
+ Demonstrated experience applying all major structural design codes
+ Demonstrated experience using 3-D structural analysis software (ETABS, SAP2000, Risa, Ram, Safe)
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Demonstrated experience in the use of Revit/AutoCAD to provide production support as a portion of team support and development
