**Job Summary**
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineer for employment in the San Diego, CA office. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional engineer to play a key role in the design and construction of a wide variety of building structures and contribute to a dynamic team of engineers, architects and technicians with a focus on delivering high quality, innovative building design solutions. In this position, you will be an important addition to the Structural Department of the Buildings + Places group, consisting of A/S/M/E/C disciplines all under one roof. Participate in a wide variety of projects including subway stations and other transit facilities, vehicle storage/maintenance facilities, office buildings, parking structures, public facilities, municipal and industrial facilities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but at not limited to:
+ Perform structural analysis and design of various types of buildings including seismic upgrade and retrofit of existing structure with minimum supervision.
+ Must be technically competent in all aspects of structural engineering.
+ Implements solutions for a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
+ Recommends appropriate actions to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
+ Experience coordinating with the field, performing site surveys, completing site observations, review shop drawings and answering request for information (RFI)
+ The ability to work with, interpret, and apply National and Local Codes
+ Excellent communication skills, as this individual will be working with both internal architecture and design teams as well as external parties, such as Building Departments, clients, and contractors.
+ Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
+ Builds analytic and design skills.
+ Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
+ Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
+ Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
+ Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
+ Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
+ 2 years of relevant experience
+ Working knowledge in structural engineering program such as ETABS, RAM, RISA 3D and SAP2000
+ Working knowledge of ASCE 7 and CBC
+ Familiarity with Revit current version
+ Self-motivated with excellent written/oral communication skills and proficiency with MS Office
+ EIT Certificate required
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ 3+ years of experience in structural design of steel, concrete and wood building
+ Familiarity with ASCE 41 is highly desirable.
+ PE Preferred
